Think about this: if you buy hamburger, and later, the beef processor finds out that they messed up and sent out contaminated meat, they have to tell you. But if a medical professional does something to your kid, no one in the medical community has to tell you. Should that be changed? Isn't you kid as important as some ground beef????

This is the proposed text of HB 2028, An Act relative to parental notification of medical malpractice or error sustained by minors
SECTION 1. Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after Section 220 the following section:- Section 221. Any medical professional shall be required to provide immediate parental notification of the impact of medical treatment negligence or error as proximal to the discovery of such negligence or error involving a pediatric or minor patient.
Please contact your Massachusetts state representative, senator, and governor and ask that this bill gets the support it deserves. Who could possibly be against a parent being told that something wrong happened medically to their child? The sooner the parents find out, the sooner the therapy to aid in recovery can begin! Is this too much for Massachusetts? The sooner the problem is found, the less expensive the remedy is!!! It would save the state money!
